Getting back into the swing of things

It is so weird how hard it is to get back into a groove or normalcy after a vacation. We are finally there after our Montana trip, it only took us like a week :). I couldn't believe how tired and sore I was from the driving, it felt like I ran a marathon and all I did was sit on my butt for hours. I can not wait until I am able to work out again and be sore from actually doing something.

The Wednesday before we left we had our first meeting with some friends from our church to talk about starting a small group with them. This particular couple have been extremely warm and welcoming to us and we really feel at home with them. They also have 4 children all around the same age us ours and it is really encouraging to talk to someone who is going through the same stage of life as us. We will be doing a small group with them every Wednesday and for right now it will be just our two families until we feel like we can handle more kids in the house :). This family and our church have been such an answer to prayers that we started praying before we even got to Idaho for a feeling of connection and friendship in this foreign place. I continue to pray that we will build strong and encouraging relationships through this church. I still miss friends and family back in California, I find myself some days just wishing I could call some of them up and head to to the local Starbucks and get a cup of coffee and just have a nice long talk about life. The phone just sometimes doesn't do it when you are feeling alone in a new city. We are heading back to California this October and I will have about 2 weeks to catch up with everyone back there, it will be refreshing to see familiar faces again.

I don't have really any new pictures from after the trip so I will just post a few more I wasn't able to squeeze in last time, and I will try to be better with the camera this next week.

it's so true what you say about vacation and then coming back home... ugh, it seems like it takes forever to get back into a normal groove! :)
I'm so glad you are finding yourself some good friends up there. Transplanting is always so hard, but it seems there comes a certain point when it all just "clicks" and feels like home... even though one never really stops missing the friends and family left behind. If that makes any sense. :)
So glad you get to come and visit soon!

I'm thinking of you as you all adjust and make new friends. I've moved so many times and it's hard every time to start over. I hope things get easier every day. I'm glad you've got new friends and a small group going. Yay on coming to California!
